David Franco is a PhD candidate in the department of French. Previously to join the program at Rutgers he completed an M.A in Hispanic Literature at Villanova University. He specializes in 17th century drama and is also interested in French Cinema (Poetic Realism, Gangster Movies) and modern narratives of disenchantment. His dissertation explores the myth of heroism in the tragedies of Pierre Corneille. As an undergraduate, David studied Journalism at Universidad Javeriana in Colombia. David began his PhD in French in 2013.
