Course Description: A survey of modern and contemporary works from France and the francophone world that challenge conventional representations of gender and sexuality. Works to be discussed (from comparative feminist, queer, trans, and critical race approaches) will include fiction, memoir, essay, graphic narrative, and film. Taught in English; all works in translation.
