This course is designed to introduce students to the rich and diverse literary traditions of the Francophone world through a survey of works of great Francophone writers from different periods, regions, and genres. Students will gain an understanding of the cultural, historical, and linguistic contexts in which these works were produced while developing critical reading skills, analytical writing skills, and oral communication skills through class discussions, presentations, and written assignments.
For students who have completed at least one 200-level course in French (such as 210, 213, 214, 215, 216, 217 or 218) or placement FFH.
